Before your BU application: avoiding disputes when you make a claim
Most disputes arise because the health information given when the contract was concluded is assessed differently later on. A carefully prepared application protects you.
What matters
- Complete and truthful: Answer every question exactly as it is asked, even if an illness was a long time ago.
- No guesswork: Request your medical records and diagnoses from your health insurance fund and your doctors instead of relying on your memory.
- Watch out for ambiguities: If a question is unclearly worded, ask about it in writing and keep the answer.
- Keep your application: Keep a complete copy of the application and all documents.
- Preliminary risk enquiry (Risikovoranfrage): If you have pre-existing conditions, an anonymous preliminary enquiry with several insurers may be advisable.
Our support
We review your documents and the wording of the application before you sign and explain the consequences that individual statements may have. We can also check contracts that have already been concluded for risks that could lead to disputes when you make a claim.
